COVID-19: 145 New Cases, Over 24 Mln People Receive First Vaccine Dose

Rabat - A total of 145 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 242 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Wednesday, stating that four deaths have been reported.

In its daily briefing on the pandemic, the Ministry noted that the number of people who have received their first Covid-19 vaccine reached 24,449,866 and those who got two jabs amounted to 22,746,944, while 1,896,565 people received their booster shot.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 950,946, while recoveries rise to 933,658, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.2%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (76), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (38), Marrakech-Safi (8), Souss -Massa (7), Beni Mellal- Khenifra (4), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (4), Fez-Meknes (4), Eastern Region (2), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1) and Draa-Tafilalet (1).

The number of active cases stands at 2,496, including 104 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
