At the closing ceremony of an awareness caravan against violence towards women, initiated by the National Police (DGSN) in collaboration with UN Women, Dkhissi expressed the unwavering commitment of the DGSN services to address these acts in all their forms, while strongly condemning this intolerable phenomenon.
Women and girls are pillars of the dynamics of economic and social development of the Kingdom, he said, adding that this caravan was an opportunity to mobilize all stakeholders around this issue.
The protection of women's rights and the fight against violence towards them are placed among the national priorities, in accordance with the high guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, he insisted, stressing that the services of the DGSN deploy all technical and material means to combat violations of their fundamental rights.
For her part, the representative of UN Women in Morocco, Leila Rhiwi, noted that "violence against women and girls are the manifestation of unequal power relations", especially since these acts are detrimental to the fundamental human rights of victims with an impact on society as a whole.
