Covid-19: 84 New Cases, Over 24.4 Mln People Receive First Vaccine Dose

Rabat - A total of 84 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 102 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said Sunday, stressing that no fatalities have been reported.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemic situation, the Ministry noted that the number of people who have received their first Covid-19 vaccine reached 24,410,199, those who got two jabs amounted to 22,632,769, while 1,641,746 people had three doses.

The new reported cases bring to 949,732 the total number of infections since the first case was recorded in Morocco in March 2020, while recoveries rise to 931,985 (a recovery rate of 98.1%).

The new daily cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (36), Casablanca-Settat (26), Marrakech-Safi (7), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (6), Eastern region (3), Souss-Massa (2), Fez-Meknes (2), Draa-Tafilalet (1) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).

The number of active cases stands at 2,973, including 102 people in a critical or severe condition.
