The talks between the two parties focused on various issues inherent in Morocco's media sector, in addition to the prospects for its development and MAP's leading role as a strategic public institution in enriching the landscape of national media.
The minister, who toured MAP's various services, was informed of their functioning and received explanations on the operation mode of the diverse divisions.
On this occasion, Bensaid visited the premises of the Media Directorate which houses the Moroccan Information Radio (RIM RADIO) and MAP's 24-hour news channel (M24), where the minister learned about the modern technical equipment available to the Directorate, as part of the efforts made by the agency, in accordance with its strategic vision, to launch high quality audiovisual products and services and to offer a non-stop news service.
The minister also visited the editorial services and was informed about the functioning of the various divisions of the Directorate of Information, including editorial services, namely photography, graphics and languages, audiovisual services such as MAPTV and MAPaudio, in addition to the division in charge of publishing MAP's two dailies "Maroc le Jour" and "Al Yaoum Al Maghribi", the monthly magazine "Bab", in both Arabic and French, as well as the quarterly magazine "Maghreb 1" (in French and Arabic).
"Since I was appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, several field visits have been scheduled to different media institutions," said Bensaid in a statement to M24.
The purpose of this visit to the agency, which coincides with the National Day of Information and Communication, he continued, is to take note, more closely, of the work conducted by the agency, nationally and internationally.
Bensaid, in this regard, welcomed the "great efforts" made by MAP to enhance the quality of services to the media and citizens, praising at the same time "the major role" of the agency at the international level, for the promotion of the image of Morocco in several countries.
This visit also allowed to take note of the work done by the agency in recent years, as well as of new audiovisual projects that are now of capital importance, said the Minister.
He also said that these projects will be discussed within the Department of Communication and with members of parliament at the level of the ad-hoc parliamentary committee, stressing that the opening of MAP on the audiovisual landscape is able to constitute a "successful experience to further publicize Morocco, issues of interest to Moroccans, the projects launched by His Majesty the King and many programs currently supported by the government."
