A total of 24,359,996 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 22,388,630, while a total of 1,570,471 people have received the third dose, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 948,157, while recoveries rise to 929,909, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.1%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (63), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (46), Fez-Meknes (6), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5), Marrakech-Safi (3), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (2), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (2), Draa-Tafilalet (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2) and Eastern Region (1).
As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 14,740 (fatality rate of 1.6%) with 3 new deaths reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Fez-Meknes and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima.
The number of active cases stands at 3,508, including 127 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
