In a statement to the press after the signing of this agreement, Oumarou said that "the Pan-African youth union is very honored by the commitment of HM King Mohammed VI who has always supported African youth, which will proudly be among their second family, here in Morocco."
He added that "this agreement will be ratified at the 4th Ordinary Congress of the Union", which will be held on November 15-16 in Niger's Niamey.
For his part, Bensaid highlighted the importance of this agreement, stressing that "HM King Mohammed VI has always emphasized the importance of promoting youth, especially those in Africa."
"The city of Rabat will be next year the African capital of culture and we will implement programs for the benefit of African youth," said the minister, adding that the establishment of this headquarters in Rabat will further promote "an experience exchange."
He also stressed the importance of presenting to pan-African youth the experiences of Morocco in the field of youth development.
In a press release, the Ministry of Youth said that "the Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the decision of the Executive Council of the Pan-African Youth Union issued on November 10th, 2020, to transfer its headquarters to Morocco."
According to the statement, the Pan-African Youth Union aims at promoting its values and principles, in particular those related to peace, to democracy and to sustainable development in order to achieve African integration.
