In its opinion on the state of competition in the private education sector in Morocco, released on Tuesday following the request of the speaker of the House of Representatives, the council revealed the existence of significant differences between operators of private school education in terms of service quality.
This opinion was based on the competitive analysis of the private school education market, and on a participative approach extending to all the sector stakeholders, in order to realize a precise diagnosis of the state of competition in the said market.
The Competition Council notes that the provision of education is part of the rights guaranteed by the Constitution, namely the right of access to a modern, accessible and quality education.
In this context, the Council adds that this state of affairs raises several questions about the State missions in terms of reconciling the encouragement of the diversification of school education offers and the unification of the content of the public education service necessary to reduce social disparities.
