This decision was endorsed during the NANHRI General Assembly, held on November 2, CNDH said in a statement, adding that the Moroccan institution was also elected as a member of GANHRI's Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA).
In addition, CNDH was elected as a member in the Alliance's working group on business and human rights, alongside Malawi and Cameroon's national human right institutions.
At the level of this continental body, CNDH was re-elected to chair the working group on migration and designated as a member of the NANHRI Steering Committee for the Northern sub-region, along with institutions from Ghana, Rwanda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Togo, Kenya and Egypt.
NANHRI General Assembly also approved a proposal by CNDH President Amina Bouayach to create a working group on children's rights, in which the Moroccan institution will sit as a member.
On the sidelines of these meetings, Bouayach participated, on November 4, in an interaction of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, with five African national institutions, on good practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Likewise, CNDH participated in an NHRIs symposium, held on November 5 on the sidelines of COP26, on the "role of national human rights institutions in bridging the gap of responsibility in climate emergency."
