This increase is the result of the rise in the index of non-food products of 1.9% and the decline in that of food products of 0.3%, said the HCP in a note on the consumer price index for September.
For non-food products, the variations range from a decrease of 0.4% in "Communications" to an increase of 5.8% for "Transport".
Compared to the previous month, the CPI rose in September 2021 by 0.7%, the same source added, noting that this change is the result of the 1.2% increase in the food index and 0.2% of the index of non-food products.
The increases in food products observed between August and September 2021 concern mainly "Bread and cereals" with 4.6%, "Oils and fats" with 2.5%, "Meat" and "Milk, cheese and eggs" with 0.6%, "Fruit" with 0.5% and "Vegetables" with 0.3%.
On the other hand, prices decreased by 2.5% for "Fish and seafood" and by 0.4% for "Mineral waters, soft drinks".
For non-food products, the rise concerned mainly the prices of "Fuels" with 0.8%.
