A total of 23,139,440 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 20,587,049, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
A total of 581 new COVID-19 cases and 639 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 940,503, while recoveries rise to 919,713, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.8%
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (246), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (198), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (34), Marrakech-Safi (24), Eastern Region (18), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (14), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (11), Fez-Meknes (10), Draa-Tafilalet (09), Souss-Massa (08), Guelmim-Oued Noun (06) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (03).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,500 (case fatality rate 1.5%) with 15 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (05), Casablanca-Settat (03), Marrakech-Safi (03), Eastern Region (01), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (01), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (01).
The number of active cases stands at 6,290, including 456 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
