A total of 23,070,027 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 20,277,782, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
A total of 169 new COVID-19 cases and 568 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 939,356, while recoveries rise to 918,375, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.8%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (82), Casablanca-Settat (38), Eastern Region (13), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (08), Marrakech-Safi (08), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (05), Fez-Meknes (05), Souss-Massa (05), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (03) and Draa-Tafilalet (02).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,474 (case fatality rate 1.5%) with 17 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (06), Casablanca-Settat (03), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (03), Eastern Region (01), Marrakech-Safi (01), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (01), Fez-Meknes (01) and Draa-Tafilalet (01).
The number of active cases stands at 6,507, including 568 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
