A total of 23,031,340 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 20,117,832, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
A total of 386 new COVID-19 cases and 638 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 939,187, while recoveries rise to 917,807, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.7%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (141), Casablanca-Settat (132), Eastern Region (28), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (26), Marrakech-Safi (20), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (12), Fez-Meknes (07), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (06), Souss-Massa (05), Guelmim-Oued Noun (05), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (02) and Draa-Tafilalet (02).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,457 (case fatality rate 1.5%) with 14 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (08), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (03), Eastern Region (01), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (01) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (01).
The number of active cases stands at 6,923, including 630 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
