"We want to build a win-win partnership with the EU for European companies to invest in Morocco and further contribute to the development of our economy," Alj said at a press briefing, during the CGEM delegation visit to Brussels to present the new Pact for the modernization of trade and investment between the EU and Morocco.
Recalling that this Pact aims to give a new boost to EU-Morocco trade relations and investment, Alj expressed the Moroccan and European business community's willingness to work closely with the EU institutions to "enhance the partnership, in the interest of both parties."
"Morocco is EU's largest commercial partner in the south with 35.5 billion euros of trade," he added.
Trade between Europe and Morocco is "very important", he underlined, adding that "we want to further develop these relations and attract both large enterprises and SMEs to settle in Morocco."
During the visit to Brussels, members of the CGEM delegation will meet with European officials to discuss partnership opportunities between Morocco and the EU in trade and investment, as well as to present the new "Pact for the modernization of trade and investment between the EU and Morocco", which has been adopted by Business Europe, CGEM and EuroCham Morocco.
