Speaking at this ceremony attended by Othman El Ferdaous, minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, together with FRMF Directors' Board members, the FRMF president, Fouzi Lekjaa, praised the distinguished participation of the national team and the impressive results it has achieved, highlighting the players' spirit of competitiveness.
He said he was very convinced of the national team's technical and professional capabilities even before their departure to Lithuania, calling for the need to think about the future and exploit this performance to reach the semi-finals.
Lekjaa stressed, in this regard, that Moroccan fans will no longer consider the qualification for the World Cup as an achievement in itself, stressing that he will hold a working session with the national coach to develop a roadmap in this regard.
For his part, the national coach, Hicham Dguig, commended Lekjaa's ongoing support, which has contributed to the qualitative leap of futsal in Morocco, recalling that the level reached by the national team is the result of the efforts made by all players and technical, medical and administrative staff.
In Lithuania, Hicham Dguig's team displayed an outstanding performance. The team achieved great results against Portugal (3-3), Thailand (1-1) and Solomon Islands (6-0) in the group stage, and Venezuela (3-2) in the round of 16.
