A total of 19,939,305 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 16,428,958 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 902,694 while recoveries rose to 853,397 i.e. a recovery rate of 94.5%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,041), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (962), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (312), the Eastern Region (214), Marrakech-Safi (174), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (117), Fez-Meknes (88), Souss-Massa (70), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (45), Guelmim-Oued Noun (31), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (30) and Draa-Tafilalet (29).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,488 with 52 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (14), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (4), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (9), the Eastern region (3), Marrakech-Safi (5), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4), Fez-Meknes (4), Souss-Massa (4), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (2) and Draa-Tafilalet (01).
The number of active cases stands at 35,809 including 1,826 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
