The number of people who got the first shot is 18,875,138, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) amounts to 15,285,804, the ministry said in its daily report on the Covid-19 epidemiological situation.
The new figure brings to 872,351 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 807,433, a recovery rate of 92.6%.
The new contaminations were identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,487), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1,414), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (559), the Eastern region (441), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (374), Fez-Meknes (335), Marrakech-Safi (249), Souss-Massa (218), Draa-Tafilalet (92), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (82), Guelmim-Oued Noun (78) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (54).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 12,819 (fatality rate of 1.5%), with 70 new cases recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (17), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (13), the Eastern region (7), Fez-Meknes (7), Souss-Massa (6), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (5), Marrakech-Safi (5), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (4), Draa-Tafilalet (3), Guelmim-Oued Noun (2) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).
The number of active cases is 52,099, while severe or critical cases reached 2,239, of which 63 are placed under intubation.
