The number of people who had the first shot is 18,022,176, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) amounts to 14,068,939, the ministry said in its daily report on the Covid-19 epidemiological situation.
The new figure brings to 836,494 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 757,268, a recovery rate of 90.5%.
The new contaminations were identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2.303), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1.310), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (754), the eastern region (656), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (548), Marrakech-Safi (503), Souss-Massa (379), Fez-Meknès (313), Drâa-Tafilalet (262), Guelmim-Oued Noun (159), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (95) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (75).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 12,176 (fatality rate of 1.5%), with 97 new cases, recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (16), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (16), Marrakech-Safi (14), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (11), Souss-Massa (10), the eastern region (8), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (5), Drâa-Tafilalet (5), Lâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (5), Fez-Meknes (3), Guelmim-Oued Noun (3) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
The number of active cases is 67,050, while severe or critical cases reached 2,516, of which 61 are placed under intubation.
