The number of people who had the first shot is 17,489,039, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) amounts to 13,191,363, the ministry said in its daily report on the Covid-19 epidemiological situation.
The new figure brings to 813,945 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 730,669, a recovery rate of 89.8%.
The new contaminations were identified in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (957), Casablanca-Settat (469), the eastern region (414), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (233), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (230), Marrakech-Safi (209), Souss-Massa (162), Drâa-Tafilalet (81), Fez-Meknès (71), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (67), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (66) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (37).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 11,889 (fatality rate of 1.5%), with 97 new cases recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (20), Casablanca-Settat (18), Marrakech-Safi (13), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (12), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (9), Souss-Massa (9), Fez-Meknès (4), the eastern region (3), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2), Drâa-Tafilalet (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (6).
The number of active cases is 71,387, while severe or critical cases reached 2,582, including 72 placed under intubation.
