Signed by Abdellatif Jouahri, Governor of Bank Al-Maghrib and Dr. Edward Christow, resident representative of UNDP in Morocco, the agreement focuses, first and foremost, on the promotion of digital financial inclusion through the use of means of digital payment to automate the payment of public subsidies as well as the popularization of digital financial services for all social segments, said a joint press release.
In the field of green and inclusive finance, the two parties have agreed to act jointly to support the initiatives of operators of the Moroccan financial ecosystem in order to finance digital ecological projects and promote the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
Under this agreement, the two institutions will carry out research work focusing in particular on the financial inclusion of women through digital channels in disadvantaged areas, the same source said.
