The establishment of this center is part of a partnership between the Council of the Moroccan Community Living Abroad (CCME) and Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (UAI), aiming at ''making the migration issue a subject of research and study, away from approaches based on foreign studies'', the secretary-general of CCME Abdellah Boussouf said.
He considered that ''the study of migration is based on social sciences to come up with new perspective and methodology''.
The first edition of Spring Social Sciences, organized by the University Mohammed V of Rabat, UAI's faculties of literature and social sciences, and the CCME, brought together for three days several academics and researchers from various Moroccan institutions of higher education.
